Dr. Kaylee believes that everyone deserves chiropractic care and that it should not only be accessible for patients that can afford it. She does not believe in huge, lengthy treatment plans that use up all of your insurance visits within the first month of care.
She works with you and your needs and determines what is the best course of action and what will work best for you. She has also fallen victim to those sales tactics before she became a chiropractor, and while all that treatment is helpful, some of us cannot simply afford a multi-thousand dollar treatment plan! Nor does a busy, working mom of two have the flexibility in her schedule to go in 3x/week!
A typical treatment plan for an adult at Family Roots is 1x/week for 4-6 weeks, phase out to 1x/every 2 weeks for 4-6 weeks, and then have you at what is ideally a "maintenance"/wellness schedule; which is around 1x/per 4-6 weeks. Resulting in approximately 12 visits TOTAL over a course of 3-4 months.
This is largely due to the fact that Dr. Kaylee spends much more time with her patients than a run of the mill chiropractic office. With added tissue work and other therapies in a 20 min visit, your adjustment settles and holds much longer and more efficiently than just getting a chiropractic adjustment by itself. Laying the Foundation for Total Health
Chiropractic care is like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care:
Phase 1: Relief Care
If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care more often initially. Dr. Kay uses the best of her abilities to determine your needs after your initial visit.
Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care
During the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. At this point in your care, Dr. Kay will begin to phase you out to what would be an ideal maintenance schedule for you.
Phase 3: Wellness Care
Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Usually, based on your lifestyle and goals, this can vary between 1x/1-2 months.
